Drug Proofing The Family
With Positive Parenting
An Intro
I believe that being a good parent is the toughest
job in the world. There is basically no training. So parents use the the trial
and error method to bring up their children which is the worst way to learn.
Remember we are talking about our children.
I have worked all of my life with students and parents. For the past twenty 24
years I have worked as a professional speaker and workshop trainer in the field
of motivation, drug awareness and drug prevention training.
Having worked for the ASET Corporation on a consulting basis, I was hired as a
national trainer and conducted workshops with a partner in some of the largest
corporations in America. We were teaching front line supervisors how to
recognize someone using drugs. We also included the employees in a special
program for them to use for themselves and their families. Of course it was not
the same program that the supervisors received.
The reason I mention the mandatory employee program was because of the positive
feed back we received from the majority of the employees. You can imagine that
the employees really did not want to go through a two hour program dealing with
drugs.
My part of the program was about drug proofing the family. When the program was
over, it never failed that we had parents coming up to us and admitting that
they really didn't want to attend the program. But, after going through the
program they said it was a great experience and they had learned a lot about
kids and drugs and how to handle their own kids.
It was a hard hitting program that did not pull any punches. This is the program
you will be receiving as we set up this series of short articles...
